Happy Valentine’s Day. there are lots of stories and theories about Santa Valentino – Saint Valentine. He was martyred in Rome by the Emperor Claudius II in 269AD about 9 years before I was born. Just like me there was more than one St. Valentine. The one I am talking about was a priest in Rome during Claudius II reign. Claudius II had a decree that stopped al weddings for single men as he was convinced that single men made better warriors. St. Valentine continued to marry young couples that were in love. this caused Claudius to martyr St Valentine. there is also a legend that while St Valentine was in prison awaiting his fate that he fell in love with the jailers daughter and wrote her a note, the first Valentine for his love.
